For those not versed in carrier aviation, this design mimics the way Navy aircraft fly around the ship. There is a C-2 Greyhound about to land, F/A-18 Superhornets and an E-2 Hawkeye overhead waiting to land, and an MH-60S hovers alongside the ship for search and rescue.
For any carrier aviators out there, this glass depicts the Case-1 overhead stack. There's a COD on the ball, sections of Rhinos at angels 2, 3, and 4 with an E-2 at the top of the stack at angels 5. You can also see a Sierra hanging out in starboard D flying plane guard.
